Pure Geek
43 % Nerd, 73% Geek, 43% Dork

For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in Geek, earning you the title of: Pure Geek.

It's not that you're a school junkie, like the nerd, and you don't really stand out in a crowd, like the dork, you just have some interests that aren't quite mainstream. Perhaps it's anime, perhaps it's computers, perhaps it's bottlecaps, perhaps it's all of those and more. Your interests take you to events and gatherings that are filled with people you find unusual and beyond-the-pale, but you don't quite consider yourself "of that crowd." Instead, you consider yourself to be fairly normal.

The fanmix bug bites. I want to add Beautiful Disaster by Kelly Clarkson to my MST ETS: got it, thanks [livejournal.com profile] omgwtf42

And browsing [livejournal.com profile] _rfa, I was struck by the sudden need to do a soundtrack for Rodney and Laura.

Crazy, nuts, insane and complete fruit-loopy. I know.

I'm still feeling pretty high from finishing TKE. Bizarrely I now don't think the target is beyond reach. Yes it's going to be hard and it does involve me writing lots. But yes, it's possible.

Writing TKE has been a learning curve. I've learnt that I have Jack in my head. About halfway through writing it dawned on me that I could hear the Doctor - not any of the others, or McKay, but one of his own creation - and that was a weird moment. I also discovered that writing for someone famous has no effect whatsoever on my writing style.

That's not to say I didn't have mild freak outs. There were points when the Doctor would say or do something and the whole reason would crash into my head. To actually be doing this with the definite aim of handing it over at the end of the day... it is odd.

I'm odd. And possibly insane.

Still, it will be gratifying as well. He'll like it. I think. I hope. There's also a small evil part of my brain that knows it's going to freak him and is overly pleased by that.

Definitely insane.

Bwhahaha I finally have a Sony PSP!

It is smaller and lighter than I imagined it and far, far groovier. As far as I was aware it played games and UMD films. Which it does do buuuuuut it also plays MP3 music and MP4 video. You can record said files to the memory card via a USB cable.

*squark!*

So yesterday I found a converter and last night I did Treed Murray (ooh I converted a Hewlett film first, shocker(!)). Today I did Hide & Seek cos it's the only one I have as avi. I'm going over to you-know-where in a bit and find the rest of season two.

A 256MB memory card costs about £30 so that's cool.

I may possibly make a more coherant post later. Chances are unlikely though.

Gateworld reports that Alliance is in trouble and may not be released. It's still up for pre-order at HMV.

Considering it's out 1 Feb, I'd really like to know one way or the other.
