She demands it. It's really out of context.

Actually, it's just this; there is no context.

Oh and it does help if you've read Haven.

Rose heard a familiar noise and stared in disbelief as the TARDIS materialised. Then the door opened and she understood.

"Lyselle?"

The dark-haired woman flashed her a grin. "Hiya Rose."

"Lyselle, what are you doing here?"

The grin faded. "Theta's in trouble."

"Well yeah and so am I, or didn't the cell give that away?"

"No, serious trouble," Lyselle said, her eyes darkened with worry. She pulled a long metal pin from her pocket and began to pick the celldoor lock. "Something isn't right. Where is he?"

"Dunno. He was taken by guards. They said to see the master."

The pin clattered to the floor and Lyselle stared at Rose, her face white. "What?"

"That's all they said."

"Shit." Lyselle shook her head. She bent and retrieved the pin and jimmied the lock. "Okay, I don't suppose I can persuade you to say here?"

Rose shook er head as well. "Oh no."

"Didn't think so," sighed Lyselle. "Just stay back and keep your mouth shut."

The Doctor strained against the mancles that held him. He knew it was hopeless, yet he couldn't help himself. He glared at his captor, who was pacing the room.

"I don't know how you do it Doctor, I really don't."

"Makes two of us," he retorted. "I was out of time. What's your excuse?"

His captor turned black eyes to him. "Excuse? I have never needed an excuse. Do you mourn them Doctor? Because I don't. Stupid, self-absorbed people. It amuses me that you were right. Maybe if they had adopted your stance and involved themselves they wouldn't be... dust."

"I should have know you wouldn't care. They are all gone."

"Yes I know. Can't hear them and that's so wonderful."

"So what now? Why am I here?"

"You interfer Doctor. Always did and I doubt very much that's changed," his captor held a gun up to his eyes. "So I'm going to erase you from time. For good."

"Oh I think not." The new voice was clear and Doctor looked at the door. His eyes widened when he saw Lyselle. He glanced at her, then at his captor.

Everything wnet very still as the man in black stared at Lyselle. She returned his look evenly, utterly calm. The Doctor's eyes found Rose, huddled by the door, watching the silent confrontation with a puzzled look on her face.

The Master glared at the Doctor. "Everyone?" He said archly. The Doctor just shrugged, affecting an air he didn't feel for one instance. His mouth was dry.

"Well this is a reunion isn't it?" Lyselle said airly. "Should have champagne."

"Oh god," the Doctor moaned aloud. He closed his eyes.

"I should have known you survived, yet I didn't," the Master mused, his eyes still on her. "Now why is that?"

"Connections have to be made. And they can also be cut."

"Yes," he replied and he leveled the gun at her. "So they can."

The Doctor panicked and struggled against his bonds. "No!"

"Shush Theta," Lyselle said quietly. "It doesn't matter. I don't matter. I never did."

The words hung heavy in the air. The Doctor wanted to deny them, but something on her face kept him quiet. He looked at the Master.

The gun was still trained, aimed perfectly at her heart. Lyselle stood still, her face blank and her breathing easy. The moment stretched.

Then he dropped his arm to his side, looking down as it crashed onto the floor. And missed the emotions that flickered over Lyselle's face. She walked over to the Doctor and released him. He put a hand on her shoulder.

"Lyselle?"

"Go Theta," she answered softly. She was staring at the floor, shaking slightly. Then she looked up at him, her dark eyes pained. "Just go."

He nodded and went towards Rose. She peeled herself off the wall and hugged him fiercly. She had no idea what had just happened but the broken look he sent Lyselle spoke volumes. "Come on Rose."

Rose took his hand but Lyselle's voice stopped them before they went through the door.

"Feel free to visit Haven. I can always use a Time Lord."

The Master looked at her, his face startled. She shrugged.

"Well I could. Kinda short on them."

The Doctor looked from one to the other, shook his head and firmly led Rose away.

"I don't understand," she admitted softly.

"Don't understand what?"

"Lyselle did just do what I think she did?"

"Yep."

"Why? He was going to kill you... kill her."

The Doctor unlocked the TARDIS and opened the door. "Maybe everyone deserves a chance Rose."

"Everyone?"

"It's her decision Rose. But I knew there was a good reason." He shut the TARDIS door and looked at her, stood next to the console.

"A good reason for what?"

"Why I don't do domestic."

So yeah. Feel free to throw things at me. I ain't sorry for nothing.
