So I've been chewing over the events of SG1's The Road Not Taken and started pondering as to what happened at the Alternative SGC after Sam left it.

And in pondering, I came up with an idea. It's not safe, it's not clever... but it is very big. See? In TRNT, Atlantis hadn't been discovered, SG1 are scattered and when Sam leaves her position at the SGC has fallen to Rodney McKay...

There are, obviously, large spoilers for The Road Not Taken.

I've probably missed something obvious but... ( coding )

So this is what happens when I watch a tv show involving giant spiders (Primeval) whilst reading fic involving a giant snake (Boa vs Python). In my defense I did try to fight off the plot bunnies.

But they were giant as well *sigh*

I can probably write more if enough people request it...

I was adding official site links to With Genius last night and I wandered over to Sci Fi to check the subsite address is the same. While I was there I had a quick nosy at their write-up on David/Rodney - and it's wrong!!

They state David's first appearence as Rodney was in season seven. Ummmm no! I'll think they'll find 48 Hours was season 5 and Redemption season 6, and that Rodney makes no appearence in season 7 whatsoever! Funnily enough, New Atlantis has just copied and pasted the entire piece - so their site is wrong as well.

Now I'm not saying that With Genius is complete or has no errors, but seriously if you're going to do a site, do it properly and research. I'd rather drop a nugget of information I'm not sure about than put it on because every other site has it.

It's like the thing with the number of sisters David is meant to have. Even IMDb has that wrong...

I noticed this morning that there's a window link to the IMDB on David's site but didn't think too much of it.

However David has shared his little plot... and boy is that boy cheeky! By linking to the ADB enrty every view of his site counts as a view to the IMDB page, which bumps up his rating.

It's cheeky, slightly naughty and utterly geeky.

I love it!

So I bought hosting and a domain for my Hewlett Obsession, reasoning that the cost was acceptable because I'd be able to share the hosting with my web design business.

Only I can't.

I'd need to be able to point the web design name at a particular folder and the cPanel won't let me do that. I can add the domain, but even if I could have two index files, URLs aren't intelligent.

So I'm going to have to buy hosting, something that a) I can't really afford, and b) means that yet again I'm going to have to wait longer before I can give out my address. Which when you're trying to set yourself up in business isn't a good thing.

*sigh*

I'm talking about Sanctuary - the latest pony out of the Stargate stables.

It stars Amanda Tapping in a long, black wig and looking a little like Gwen, actually. It'll have werewolves and vampires and other Strange Stuff.

I try and reserve judgement on things like this, but I have to admit feeling a little wary.
