Arrrrrgggggg I've gone green. :x
No, no, no, no, nooooooooooooo. If we wanted a romance, we'd go out and buy a Barbara Cartland novel fcol. It's SCI FI, that it's science fiction Mr Henson. IE: it's set in space and is about the myriad races and how a power that was meant to protect turned bad. Come on, you've seen Star Wars now haven't you?
Now romance is all fine and good - we all like fluff every now and then. But that is not the sole story behind Farscape. Yeah I went gooey at The Flax (sorry bit I did ~ *hangs head in shame*), but but BUT if that's what we'd get week in, week out, then no thanks. I am not going to watch that. This is why I did not watch most of season four and why I will not watch the mini series.
For the shippers that sigh and say "Oh she's a Crais fan and Crais ain't in it" this is not why I'm refusing to watch it. The reason is that Farscape has failed to live upto the promises it made in seasons 1 & 2. When it became the John/Aeryn love-in instead of a story of several threads.
Now I'm also a huge fan of Stargate SG1 and I am a shipper - I'd love Jack & Sam to get together. But if the show suddenly turned from them going out to new worlds and saving the galaxy to the kind of love-angst we've seen in Farscape, I'd run a mile.
Take a hint - love in sci-fi/fantasy shows is like chocolate: a little is sweet, too much rots your teeth.
Okay, rant over, you may come out now *G*
