Apologies to those on
doctorwho for slight cross postage.
Well we waited long enough for it.
Started well, nice built up of tension. Which was then nicely spoilt by bleedback. I hope there has been some serious butt-kicking over that.
If I have one complaint, it's that the episode seems rushed. It carries you along with it on the first viewing but I watched it tonight with dh and this was more obvious. Still, they only had 45 mins and I'd rather them squeeze it in then drag it out over two eppies.
Chris and Billie are excellent. Chris plays the Doctor with just the right mix of childishness and cleverness. Giving him [the Doctor] a sense of humour was an inspiration!
Billie's Rose is really an "assistant" rather than just eye candy. Looking forward to seeing her develop more.
The script was smooth; the background fill was a deft touch. The effects were pretty spectacular, although not as seamless as higher-budgeted American shows, but for me it had more appeal.
Okay now an admission. The scene near the end where the Doctor invites Rose is....
Alright, I squeaked. So sue me.
It's even more squee-worthy on a second viewing *grin*
