Writing a dabble (100 words, including the title) based on the prompt "love". I'm so stoked, because I spent quite a while whittling the 160+ ficlet down to 100.
Love, or Something Like It [FRC]
There's sad little specimen of a potted plant on Sam's desk. She looks at it, then the man opposite. “What's this?”
“I thought that much was obvious.”
“Okay, let's try that again – why is it here?”
“I bought it for you.”
She stares. “Why?”
He frowns. “Isn't that what your type like?”
“My 'type'?”
“Women.”
“Oh, that type.” She realises something. “You bought me flowers?”
Baal sniffs. “Isn't that what I said?”
Sam doesn't laugh. It is, after all, the thought that counts.
