General stuff

For those that didn't know, I had a meeting with my bank manager yesterday. No magic pill, but I knew that wasn't forthcoming. But he knows me know and we had a positive discussion anyway. He rand the phone company and I'll have a freefone number by the end of next week. No luck in persuading Yellow Pages for just the yell.com listing. They want a physical address, I don't want people coming round. They will take a PO Box but at £53 a year, I'm thinking it might be best just to list the house. It's whether the landlady will find out and what she'll do if she does.

Our car has died. Well it's in its death throes. After we spend 30 quid on the fuel pump it decided to throw the gearbox out. It'll be around £500 just to recondition the damn thing. We don't have 500 pounds. However we may be able to borrow the £200 needed for the Volvo Howard's seen. So fingers are crossed.

Another thing to cross the fingers for is a meeting on Monday with someone who knows about business grants. I really, really need the money to expand on my stock and to buy this kiln I have my eyes on. I rang the place yesterday and she rang me straight back, which I like. And she sounds lovely. I'm hoping that the fact her name is Elizabeth is a Good Sign.
