Shiny

So I finally got round to cleaning my kitchen after the Gas Men Of Doom came around and it's now supershiny. I'd go as far as ubershiny.

Have I mentioned I love my kitchen?

I do. I love this house. depsite the fact we've only been in like two weeks, it really feels like ours. Having workmen making holes and dust and muddy footprints was Deeply Disturbing and I cried. And then the gas didn;t work and [livejournal.com profile] morbid_sparks can testify how pissed off that made me.

My mum and dad visited today. They never, ever came round to the Other House cos I hated it and was a slob because of that. I mean, I'm not Mrs Beeton and never will be, but I'm keeping the place neat and clean. Which is a major step forward.

I showed off my ubershiny kitchen and the new accessories fitted to the bathroom today by H and the lino I got for there the other day (20 quid for lino! I score!) Mum was mightily impressed, except for my slightly shitty bedding (duvets have had it but they have been used by children for just about everything). She also likes the blind we got in the lounge, bought from Homebase for a whole £15 (home-making on a budget. I should write a book. Or something).

Only downside to the day happened 5 - 10 minutes before my parents were due. H was painting the Land Rover and the kids were playing out. Millie borrowed next door's bike and... ummm... basically ran Elizabeth over. Who hit pavement head first.

So my mum and dad are due any second and Tizzle is screaming and there's blood everywhere *sighs and rolls eyes* Major damage was avoided and after a plaster, a spoonful of Calpol and a chocolate cake from Grandma, all was well again.

Part from that though, it was a good day.

But I owe [livejournal.com profile] morbid_sparks *grins broadly* Ta, hun. Love ya!
